ALL ABOUT AMY…

DRUMMER & PERCUSSIONIST

Drum kit sits at the centre of Amy’s professional performance work.

She performs across musical theatre, touring productions, live bands, corporate entertainment and contemporary music, bringing versatility and strong musical instincts to each setting.

Amy’s playing combines solid time, dynamic awareness, musicality and attention to detail, whether working from charts, click tracks, cues or live direction.

Her experience as both a drummer and Musical Director gives her a broad understanding of the whole ensemble, allowing her to support performers, respond to the room and help create a confident, cohesive performance.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR & CONDUCTOR

Amy works across Musical Direction, conducting and Music Supervision in theatre and live performance.

Her work includes leading rehearsals, conducting performances, running band calls, supporting casts and musicians, shaping arrangements and helping maintain the musical consistency of a production.

She is equally comfortable leading from the podium or working from within the band, bringing a practical performer’s perspective to the rehearsal room.

Drawing on experience across productions and touring environments (Cruel Intentions the 90s Musical Party Melb 2025, Footloose the Musical National Tour AU 2026), Amy works closely with performers, musicians and creative teams to keep the musical elements of a show clear, cohesive and consistent from rehearsal through to performance.

She teaches students across a wide range of ages and experience levels, from beginners developing their first grooves through to more advanced players preparing for performances, assessments, auditions and further study.

Amy’s teaching combines technique, coordination, reading, groove, musicality and performance skills, with a strong focus on helping students understand how to practise effectively and become confident, independent musicians.

Drawing on her professional experience in theatre, live performance and contemporary music, Amy brings real-world playing into the lesson room and tailors each session to the individual student.

CLICK TRACKS, PLAYBACK & PROGRAMMING

Amy creates and prepares click tracks, playback stems, count-ins, cues, tempo maps and rehearsal materials for theatre, bands and live performance.

Her approach focuses on making technology useful for the musicians actually using it, with playback systems designed to be clear, musical and reliable in a real performance environment.

Working across Logic Pro, Ableton Live and QLab, Amy understands playback from both the programming side and the perspective of the performer hearing and responding to it on stage.
